Non Surgical Face Lifts using Silhouette Soft® threads

What are thread lifts?

A Thread Lift is a cosmetic procedure that does not involve surgery but nevertheless results in similar benefits by using threads made from surgical materials. Silhouette Soft® threads are made of PLA – polylactic acid – a biodegradable polymer that has been used for sutures and prosthetic body parts for many years. The non-permanent threads are called “soft” because they biodegrade over a period of time and are then replaced with collagen fibres produced by the body. Silhouette Soft® is threaded under the skin and tiny anchoring cones along its length grip the surrounding tissue enabling the prolapsed skin of the face or neck to be manipulated upwards and backwards into a new position. The process is essentially pain free as local anaesthetics are used and the technique is performed as a walk in walk out procedure taking less than hour. It is sometimes referred to as the one stitch face lift.
What areas of the head and neck can it help?
It is particularly suitable for the face, neck and eyebrows lifting and pulling upwards and backwards to counter the effect that gravity and aging have had over the years. Sagging cheeks, marionette folds and jowls can be markedly improved. Eyebrows that have drooped and that may have caused hooding over the eyelids can be lifted. Necks that have become saggy and wrinkled can be pulled back and tightened.

How good are the effects?

The effects are significant and are in part dependent on factors such as tissue density and integrity and how many threads are used. The beneficial effects generally last for around 18 months to 2 years. They can be complemented with the use of botox and long lasting dermal fillers, such as Ellanse that can be effective for up to 4 years depending on the grade chosen.

Who is it not suitable for?

The procedure is only suitable for individuals that haven’t got an excessive amount of loose skin or accumulation of a lot of fat nor is it suitable for individuals that are extremely thin and lean. It is not suitable for individuals who have an autoimmune disorder or who are allergic to many things or who are taking steroid or immune suppressing medication.

What is the downtime?

The procedure is usually carried out in less than an hour or more depending on the number of threads used. There will be some injection marks and possibly some bruising that will disappear over a number of days.
Please note you will not be allowed to have any facial or beauty treatments, dental treatments or undertake any strenuous physical activity for at least 2 weeks after the treatment. You will also need to avoid pressure on the treated area when sleeping during this same period but preferably for the first 6 weeks in order to allow the cones to be securely “knitted” and anchored into position.

What is the price of the treatment?

The price will depend on how many threads are used and this can be discussed beforehand. The following are current prices:

2 threads £750
4 threads £1,250
6 threads £1,700

A £200 deposit fee is required when booking. This will be deducted from the total cost of your treatment.
